Sugar Hill Farm is located in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania. The grass is plentiful and lush, and the elevation keeps it relatively cool. We raise registered Scottish Highland Cattle – one of the oldest and purest cattle breeds.
Scottish Highland Cattle prefer to stay outside all the time. They don’t like to go in the barn. Our cows have a very large pasture with plenty of grazing area and plenty of woods for shelter from hot or cold weather. In a nutshell, our cows have a very clean, peaceful and healthy environment with plenty of space.
Farming has been in our family for over 100 years. We created a grass fed organic beef business because we believe in the concepts represented by it, namely, a family owned sustainable agricultural business that uses no chemicals, no hormones, no antibiotics - resulting in a healthy and nutritious product produced in harmony with the land and with less impact on the environment. Most beef in the US is shipped to the Midwest to be finished and then shipped back out to the grocery stores. Our product is not shipped back and forth across the country, but raised as efficiently as possible and shipped directly to you when you order it.
